Meet Our Fearless Leaders
Our Lumina Foods® leadership team is deeply connected to the daily operations of our company and the health and success of our clients’ business. Accessible, approachable leaders are a hallmark of our company culture.
When you work with us, you’ll get to know these folks:
Founder and CEO
Britt Hunt is a member of a Nashville, Tennessee family of successful entrepreneurs whose legacy began in the restaurant business. His mother’s family opened Nashville landmark Jimmy Kelly’s Steakhouse in the midst of the Great Depression and prohibition era, his grandfather owned a drive-in restaurant, and his father and uncles founded Hunt Brothers® Pizza. Surrounded by so much entrepreneurial spirit, Britt always knew he would start his own business.
“My dad had the biggest influence on me,” says Britt. “I always felt like anything was possible around him. He taught me that if you truly believe in something and work hard to achieve it, you will be successful.”
“It’s so important to have values and principles that anchor you and keep you grounded,” says Britt. “Things can get hazy in business; but if God, family, health and work are all going along perfectly at the same time – that’s success to me.”
With unfaltering commitment, Britt continues to build and grow the Lumina Foods business ecosystem around those priorities.
Britt frequently speaks to groups on the topics of entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, performance management and finding the right talent. He is a devoted husband and father to five wonderful children, and is deeply committed to philanthropy in his own community. Causes close to his heart include Fifty Forward, Hope Clinic for Women and the YWCA’s Re-New program.
Chief Strategy and People Officer
As the Chief Strategy and People Officer for Lumina Foods, Mandy oversees Human Resources and provides strategic insight for all the businesses within the Lumina Foods family of companies.
Once a law school candidate, Mandy fell in love with the human resources field during a summer internship. After graduation, she began building a career in the field and by the time she joined the Lumina Foods family, she was well prepared for her role as a developer and coach of leaders, managers and employees. It’s a position she never takes for granted.
“I’ve learned to never minimize the impact that you can have on people as a leader,” she says. “It has been demonstrated to me over and over again: time spent coaching, mentoring or developing others can have a major influence on that individual down the road.” As a Certified Career Development Coach, she sees that influence every day at Lumina Foods.
Outside of her professional role, Mandy is a devoted wife, daughter and aunt of two— a job she also takes very seriously. She not only shares our focus on being a blessing to our partners in her professional life, but also holds mission-driven causes close to her heart in her personal life, as well. Mandy supports many causes, including prison ministry, foster care respite and mission trips.
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer for Lumina Foods, Andy Kelly inspires our team members to help grow our customers’ business in conventional and creative ways. In this leadership role, he is responsible for nurturing our current relationships as well as expanding our customer footprint across the Southeast.
“Our goal,” says Andy, “is for every Lumina Foods customer to feel like they’re our only customer, because we offer such excellent customer service and sales support.”
Andy brings fourteen years of industry experience to the Lumina Foods team, beginning with the company as an Account Manager and working his way through the ranks. As a lifelong learner, he considers himself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to personally experience almost every position that interacts directly with our customers. “Our company believes in being a blessing to other people,” he says, “and my job is to figure out we can bless more people more often.” Andy is a Certified Instructor of Professional Selling Skills by Achieve Global and holds an MBA from Trevecca Nazarene University.
Andy comes from a long line of entrepreneurs; his grandfather founded Jimmy Kelly’s, one of Nashville’s best-known and longest-enduring steakhouses. Growing up in this environment laid the groundwork for Andy’s passion to help business owners succeed with great food products. Andy and his wife, Amy, live a happy and busy life as the parents of two young sons, Barrett and Knox.
Chief Finance Officer
Mitch Walker serves not only as the Chief Finance Officer for Lumina Foods, but he also leads the financial management for its businesses TBHC Delivers® and Pedestal Foods®. With past experience across multiple industries including manufacturing, printing and fulfillment services and wholesale food distribution, Mitch brings a wealth of business and financial expertise to the Lumina Foods leadership team.
Mitch has worked with Lumina Foods for more than a decade, earning his MBA from Belmont University even as he served the company. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
When he’s not managing all things financial for Lumina Foods, Mitch enjoys spending time with his wife, Denise, and their four children. Mitch feels that parenting “has opened my eyes to how rewarding it really is to put someone’s needs above your own,” a sentiment that’s especially true with two of their daughters, adopted from China with special medical needs. “In the end,” he says, “I have not changed them. They have changed me.”
Senior Vice President of Operations
As our Senior Vice President of Operations, Dan is responsible for the growth of our convenience store business segments, finding new strategies for maximizing our market share and helping the company become a blessing to more business owners around the U.S.
In his four years with the company, Dan has found working with Lumina Foods to be rewarding, and enjoys navigating “an ever-changing environment that provides new challenges and opportunities to improve every single day.”
Prior to coming on board, Dan served in the U.S. Marine Corps, providing leadership, operations and planning; he has also worked in sales for General Electric and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. As the man responsible for putting our products and services in front of c-store owners, it’s important to Dan that he can believe 100% in what he sells. “I enjoy working for Lumina Foods because of what we do,” he says. “We have great tasting products, we help small businesses succeed, and we get to see the excitement from consumers when they experience our foods.”
At home, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also volunteers his time to help mentor military veterans as they transition to civilian life after serving our country, a personal mission he finds truly rewarding.
Vice President of Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Lumina Foods relies on Phil Cashion for the tactical and strategic vision to position our company for long-term, sustained success. He’s as focused on serving our customers and employees as much as he is on growing our organization as a whole, living by the belief that success is heavily steeped in helping others.
“I strive to help people bring out the best in their own personal abilities,” he says of his role, “by providing inspirational leadership and best-in-class-training.” Phil brings more than fifteen years of industry experience to the Lumina Foods team, prior to joining Lumina Foods he dedicated 23 years to serving as an active-duty U.S. Marine, retiring in 2005.
